Kumar thapa, a local cadre of CPN-UML's Youth Association has been seriously injured after being attacked with a sharp weapon by an unidentified group in Kharhani of Chitawan on May 7. According to inspector Anoj Bishwokarma of Area Police Office Khairahani, Thapa was attacked near his home in Khairahani-8. Thapa sustained injuries on his head, hand, and leg. Thapa had entered CPN-UML leaving Nepali Congress a year ago and was actively engaging politically for the upcoming election. The attack is believed to be motivated politically. Police have arrested a person for investigation.
