Situation turned tense in Ghiring Rural Municipality of Tanahu on May 10 after Nepali Congress and CPN-UML cadres resorted to throwing stones at each other. A vehicle belonging to UML cadre sustained broken window pane after being hit by a stone thrown by Congress cadres according to inspector Raj Kumar BK of Pokharichhap police post. Before the clash there was a dispute between the two parties regarding the drowning of a boy who had come to attend election program of Nepali Congress in Ghiring-5. The boy had gone missing while he was swimming in Kaligandaki river.
According to Yam Bahadur Thapa, the rural municipal Chairperson of Nepali Congress, Ishwor participated in the rally because his Grandmother Nirmaya BK was a candidate of Dalit member. Thapa claimed that Ishwor returned home with his relatives on the day of the rally.
