Maoist Center's cadres beaten in Rukum West's Chaurjahari

Nepali Congress cadres have assaulted five cadres of CPN (Maoist Center) including ward member candidate in Chaurajahari Municipality-10 of Rukum West on the night of May 11. Maoist Center's ward member candidate Tulsiram Budha, Juddha Bahadur Gharti, Kamal KC, Hari Bahadur Rokaya, and Saugat Rokaya are among those assaulted. Ward member Budha accused Congress cadres led by candidate for chairperson of ward 10 Ganeshman Dangi of assaulting them. They also held Maoist Center's ward chairperson candidate Birendra Rokaya and Saugat Rokaya hostage for around four hours. They were later rescued by police. Congress has claimed that they took control of the two Maoist leaders and handed them to police for distributing money. Nepali Congress district chairperson Prem Prakash Oli stated that three congress cadres were also injured in the incident. The injured are undergoing treatment in Chaurjahari hospital.
