Voting stopped at polling booths in Baiteshwor of Dolakha due to clash between political parties, police fires warning shots to calm situation

Voting has been stopped at polling booths in Ward 1, 2, and 3 of Baiteshwor Rural Municipality of Dolakha today. Voting was obstructed after Nepali Congress and CPN-UML cadres clashed pelting stones to capture booths.

According to election officer Basistha Ghimire, was stopped at ward 1 and 3 due to the clash while voting could not be started in ward 2 due to tension. Police fired few rounds of warning shots to take situation into control. Gairimudi, Janajyoti Secondary School, and Kalidhunga Secondary voting centers remained tense since morning. Election officer, Ghimire stated additional security personnel are being deployed to maintain security and resume voting.
