Locals vandalized a vehicle of the district election office in Birtamod municipality-3 on May 14 after finding sample ballot papers inside the vehicle. The locals also mistreated  District Election Officer Tulasi Kumar Nepal who was on the vehicle at the time of the incident.

Sample ballot papers without stamps were found on the vehicle. Police provided security to Nepal and the vehicle. Nepal was assaulted while he was visiting site to ensure and observe separate media desks for media persons at all the vote counting sites, increase the number of counting sites and understanding the reasons behind the delay in the counting of votes.
