Student stages demonstration in Kathmandu demanding to revoke price hike on petroleum products

Student union close to CPN (Revolutionary Maoist) staged a demonstration in the central Office of Nepal Oil Corporation in Kathmandu, on Sunday demanding to revoke a price hike on petroleum products. Harikrishna Gajurel, the chairperson of ANNSFU (Revolutionary) close to Mohan Vaidya led CPN (Revolutionary Maoist), said that the government should immediately cancel the price hike as citizens are finding it difficult to sustain livelihood. The demonstrators chanted slogans against the government in the protest. Nepal Oil Corporation increased the price of petrol, diesel, and kerosene by Rs 10 per liter with effect from May 14 midnight.
