Woman assaulted by Rastriya Prajatantra Party's ward chairperson candidate in Kapilvastu

35-year-old Asha Tharu of Sonpur, was physically assaulted by Rahul Tharu, a RPP candidate for the post of ward chairperson of Shivaraj municipality-1 on May 15 after losing in a local level election with the candidate of CPN-UML. Asha sustained serious injuries on her head and mouth. According to the police, a complaint was lodged against six people including Rahul accusing them of beating the woman for not voting in their favour.
