Couple assaulted by a group in Siraha for not casting votes to their desired candidate

35-year-old Gita Devi Yadav and her husband Duniya lal Yadav were beaten for not giving votes to candidate of ward chairperson from CPN-UML at ward no. 2 of Bhagwanpur rural municipality in Siraha. Supporters of the CPN-UML candidate beat the couple when their victory rally marched to the village. Among the accused are nephew of newly elected ward chairperson, Anil Yadav along with Devnath Yadav, and Krishna Bandhu Yadav.
The couples said that, they were assaulted in the pretext of voting but the actual reason was an old feud between them.
