Cadres of CPN (Maoist Center) staged a demonstration in Bodebarsain municipality-3 of Saptari on May 17, alleging that the counting of votes was rigged. Shiv Narayan Yadav of Nepali Congress was elected as the chairperson of Bodebarsain municipality-3 by a margin of one vote. His closest rival, Bhubaneswar Yadav of the Maoists, polled 599 votes.
