CPN (Maoist Center) staged a demonstration in Bode Barsain municipality of Saptari demanding to recount votes of ward 3 and 2, on May 18. The demonstration was staged on the leadership of Umesh Kumar Yadav a Spatari district chairperson of Maoist Center by burning tires. The Maoists Center also filed a petition in the office of the Election Officer asking for recount of votes.

Supporters of Bhubaneswar Yadav, rival of the CPN-UML, staged a demonstration after the Office of the Election Officer announced that Shiv Narayan Yadav of the Nepali Congress was elected as the chairperson of ward-3 by a margin of one vote. After Yadav was defeated by one vote, Maoist cadres  alleged that the counting of votes was rigged.
