Six persons sustained injuries as a group of CPN-UML cadres allegedly attacked a rally of Nepali Congress cadres in Birgunj, Parsa district, of southern Nepal on Thursday night. After winning the ward chairpersonship of Birgunj-27, the Nepali Congress cadres had organised a victory rally on the night of May 18. According to Congress cadres, UML cadres including the ward chairperson candidate attacked them. Police arrested CPN-UML’s ward chairperson candidate Pradeep Kumar Yadav and two others for their alleged involvement in the attack, informed DSP Om Prakash Khanal.
