Truck driver Binod Basnet, 21, of Dolakha Boch VDC-1 and living in Bhaktapur has been arrested by police on August 26 on charge of attempting to rape a 16-year-old girl. He was arrested on charge of attempting to rape a girl inside the mini truck with registration number Ba1 Kha 4460. He had taken the girl inside the truck after luring her to drop home while she was waiting for a public transport, said DSP Shyam Adhikari of Metropolitan Police Range Bhaktapur. The victim had lodged a complaint at police office on August 25 accusing him of attempting to rape her on the night of August 24. She was rescued by the locals who had responded after hearing her scream, said police.
