CPN-UML obstructed the Sanphe-Martdai road protesting against the decision of the election commission to hold re-election of local level in Budhiganga municipality of Bajura.
The chairperson of Budhiganga municipal committee of CPN-UML, Narendra Thapa mentioned that, "The elder brother of attorney general of Sudurpaschim Pradesh is mayoral candidate from Nepali Congress in the municipality." He also blamed election commission saying, "The election commission made the decision of re-election with the intention to facilitate the win of mayoral candidate from congress."
The CPN UML also decided to approach Supreme Court against the decision of election commission.
Not only CPN-UML, Nepali Congress has also opposed the decision to hold re-election in some wards of the municipality. CPN-UML blamed Nepali Congress of capturing booths in ward number 4 and 7 during the election held on May 13. 99% of votes were casted in these wards. Likewise, Nepali Congress also blamed CPN-UML of capturing booths in ward numbers 2,3,5, and 9. Both parties have claimed that the election in remaining 1,6,8, and 10 wards were peaceful.
