Police have arrested Nabin Gurung, 19, of Lamjung and living in Pokhara submetropolis-12 on August 31 in connection with the gang-rape of a 21-year-old woman. The woman had filed a complaint at the District Police Office on August 28 saying that eight men including Gurung raped her while she was returning home at around 8 pm on August 27. She said that the accused took her to Karki danda in Kusunde, Kahun VDC-2 in a motorcycle and raped her in turns. Police initiated investigation under rape charge after arresting Lekh Bahadur Gurung alias Bahuda, 20, of Pokhara-13, Kiran Srish, 21, of Pokhara-12 along with Nabin. Police had made the case public two days later citing sensitivity of the case. According to police, Jas Bahadur Gurung, 21, of Pokahra-12, Sandesh Gurung, 20, Om Prakash Gurung, 19, Roshang Gurung, 22, and Santosh Gurung, 21, of same place are absconding. Medical test of the victim was conducted at Western Regional Hospital on August 28.
