No action has been taken against in-charge of temporary police post Dandabazaar ASI Nabaraj Karki though a complaint of caste-discrimination was filed against him two months ago. ASI Karki had been discriminating police constable Yubaraj Pariyar, 30, of the same police post accusing him of belonging to a lower caste. Pariyar had filed a complaint at the District Police Office on June 13 saying that ASI Karki barred him from making meal in the police mess, made him eat separately, and restricted him from entering kitchen alleging him of belonging to a lower caste. A 3-member probe committee led by Inspector Surendra Prakash Shrestha of the Area Police Office Rajarani was constituted to prepare report after investigating into the incident following the complaint. SP Ishwari Prasad Chapagain of the DPO said that no information had arrived from the Zonal Police Office though department action was recommended against ASI Karki by the committee a month ago. Pariyar is currently deployed at the DPO while ASI Karki is in a training at police headquarters in Kathmandu.
