Land revenue official held for bribe

Pokhara, Bhumi rajaswa adhikari ghus line kram ma pakarau. A senior non gazetted officer of Kaski Land Revenue office was held on the charge of taking bribe . Following a complaint from a service seeker, a team of Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) regional office on Thursday arrested Krishna Prasad Paneru with the bribe amount of Rs 10,000. A service seeker, Manorath Bastola, of Phulbari-11, Pokhara, lodged a complaint at the CIAA office this morning saying the officials at the Land and Revenue office were seeking monetary incentives for his land related work. Later in the day, the anti-graft body deployed a team led by police inspector Subas Pandit with Bastola who handed over Rs 10,000 to Paneru. “Earlier, he asked for Rs 1 million,” said Bastola, “I bargained the amount down to Rs 10,000. I went to the CIAA for refuge after my simple work was not done for six days. CIAA regional office spokesperson Sarita Khatiwada said that investigation on the incident will begin soon.
