Police on July 30 arrested 35-year-old Banch Bahadur Bhandari of Simikot Rural Municipality-2 Thehe in Humla on the charge of physically assaulting 42-year-old Migyur Lama, a journalist affiliated to Radio Karnali Aawaj and Humla District Deputy Chairperson of Press Chautari. Bhandari who is a relative of the owner of the house on which the radio is operated beat Lama and his relative accusing them of theft on July 30 evening. Both of them sustained injuries according to Nawaraj Mahatara, station in-charge of the radio.
Police arrested Bhandari after receiving complaint against him and are further investigating the incident.
