Police on July 31 arrested 43-year-old Kulchandra Gautam a resident of Sainamaina-6 in Rupandehi on the charge of killing his friend 44-year-old Bishnu Bahadur Pande of Malarani Rural Municipality-2 Arghakhanchi residing in Butwal of Rupandehi. The incident of Pande's murder became public after he was found dead on Saturday.
According to police, Gautam who owed money to Pande for purchase of a vehicle killed him at a jungle in Panini-2 of Arghakhanchi on July 26. Police arrested the accused who went on the run after the incident from Nepal-India border in Belahiya on Sunday. During police interrogation, he confessed that he killed Pande with the intention of not returning the money owed. Police are further investigating the incident.
