UML District committee has accused District Police Office of not registering a complaint of abduction, hostage taking and rape in a statement issued on September 6. The statement said that instead of ensuring justice to the victim, the police were ignoring the attempt under political pressure. The statement is refferint to a case of rape of a 14-year-old girl of Udarapur VDC. The victim's family said that the girl was held hostage and then raped by Safiq Khan, 18, of the same place on August 31. The girl allegedly managed to flee on September 1. Locals said the girl and the boy had a love affair. Inspecgtor Kisan Singh Budhal said that the police were investigating the case.
