The Community Forest Users Federation has protested against the recently passed Forest Regulations 2079 at Maitighar. The federation staged the demonstration citing that this regulation has taken the rights of the consumer committee from the district forest and demanded that this regulation should be repealed immediately.

The demonstrators allege that Forest Regulations 2079 have taken away the rights of community forest user committees in the Forest Act 2076. The protestors chanted slogans such as cancel the forest regulations 2079 against the forest policy, cancel the new regulations imposed on community forests, cancel the forest regulations against federalism, cancel the anti-women forest regulations 2079, cancel the triple tax on community forests. The demonstration which started from Maitighar Mandala reached New Baneshwar with a slogan rally and turned into a corner meeting.
