Police in the Parsa district of southern Nepal have arrested two men on the charge of killing their young sister’s boyfriend.
Pritam Patel (30) and Uttam Patel (28), residents of Bishrampur rural municipality-5 of the neighbouring Bara district, have been accused of murdering Raj Kumar Thakur of the same neighbourhood recently.
DSP Prahlad Karki says the duo killed Thakur in Nagawa, Birgunj metropolitan city-16 in Parsa. The Patel brothers own a tailor’s shop in Birgunj.
Following the murder, the duo reportedly kept the victim’s body in a sack, took it to the Raxaul railway station in India on a motorbike (Na 38 Pa 4395) and left it there. After the suspects revealed this information, the police launched an operation in coordination with the Indian police and brought the body back.
Meanwhile, kin and members of the victim have come to Birgunj from Bishrampur of Bara and launched a demonstration demanding stern action against the perpetrators.
