A youth was seriously injured in firing by an unknown group in Omasatiya of Rupandehi.
According to police, Bikas Gurung of Siddharth Nagar Municipality-1 Belhia was injured in firing by an unknown group in Omasatiya Rural Municipality-4 Basantpur.
District Police Office Rupandehi Police Inspector Deepak Kunwar informed that the group opened fire in front of the Basantpur ward office at around 11 pm on Sunday night. A group of three people on a motorcycle shot at him.
According to the police, Gurung was shot in the left side and he is being treated at Universal Medical College Bhairahawa. Half an hour before the gunshots were fired, the police believe that a group of people ran away from Siddharth Cottage in Rohini Rural Municipality Ward No. 1 by-pass, looting gold jewelry and cash. The police have mobilized in and around the incident site and are searching for the group that fired the shots, the police said.
