A suspicious object thought to be improvised explosive device (IED) was found in Baitadi on August 23 during a  nationwide bandh called by four communist parties including Netra Bikram Chand-led Nepal Communist Party (NCP). Due to the Nepal Banda, transport service, industries, schools, etc. were not affected, but the local citizens became alarmed when suspicious items were found in some places.
