Police have arrested 150 people and forest protection activists while burning the effigy of Madhesh Chief Minister Lalbabu Raut. The police arrested them when they went to padlock the office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers on August 25. The national coordinator of the campaign, Sunil Yadav, said that the police arrested 150 members of the campaign, including the state coordinator of the campaign. According to Yadav, 15 of those arrested are men and the rest are women. On August 24, the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, and Forests released a report that did not come to a conclusion on whether or not the Maruti Cement Industry in Choharwa, Siraha, had occupied government land.
