Rajan Paswan, a student of grade 12 was found dead hanging in his hostel located in Lahan municipality-6 of Siraha on September 12. Paswan's uncle suspected that he might have been murdered and then hung from the ceiling. Paswan's dead body was found hanging on the second floor of the hostel by doubling the thick nylon rope used to carry the sand to the roof. Rajan had been living in the hostel operated by 21-year-old Mukesh Yadav of Saptari.

The police said that the body was found with a blue shirt worn by the child, with one rope tied over it and another rope around the neck. Police are preparing to sent the body for post-mortem to establish the actual cause of the death.
