Locals of Siraha district staged a demonstration in Siraha on September 20 demanding halt to the exploitation of resources from Kamala river bordering Siraha and Dhanusha district. The locals who had formed an all-party struggle committee to steer their agitation staged the demonstration stating that repeated peaceful protests and pleas to end the exploitation of the river to local representatives and district administration had gone unheard.
