Two persons were injured when a pressure cooker-based improvised explosive device (IED) went off in Banke on November November 16. The injured have been identified as Dilli Bahadur DC, Banke district chairperson of Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN's student wing and a cadre of the party Dharmaraj Sunar of Ghodaghadi-1 Kailali. The IED went off at the house of Diwakar Malla in Bhrikutinagar of Nepalgung sub-metropolitan city-10. DSP Ram Prashad Gharti of Banke District Police confirmed the incident.
Police suspected the IED went off while they were in the process of making it. Other IEDs found at Dilli's rented room were disposed by a bomb disposal unit of the Nepal police. Police are further investigating the incident.
