The cadres of CPN (Maoist Center) obstructed the East West Highway at Golbazar of Siraha since Friday night protesting against alleged vandalism of their supporter's house by CPN-UML. The Maoist cadres blamed the supporters of winning CPN-UML candidate from constituency number no. 3 of Siraha for vandalizing the house of losing CPN (Maoist Center) candidate's brother during their victory rally on November 25.
Police opened the highway at 10:00 pm on Friday. The Maoist cadres also accused CPN-UML cadres of assaulting 43 year old local, Shreechan Sah who requested them not to vandalize the house. Sah, who was admitted to Life Long Hospital in Golbazar sustained head injuries requiring 4 stitches.
The protesting Maoist cadres demanded the newly elected representative to seek apologies and detention of attackers as soon as possible. The cadres also forced shut down in Golbazar market. The vehicles are passed through the by skirting of security forces, said DSP of Siraha, Subas Budhathoki.
The efforts were on between CPN-UML, Maoist Center and local administration to open the highway.
