Seven Injured in a clash during a victory rally in Mahottari

Seven people were injured in a clash during a victory rally of Laxmi Mahato from CPN-UML Mahottari constituency area no-1 on November 29. A group led by Mahato's supporters, the ward chairperson of Gaushala municipality-2 Shyam Sundar Manadal assaulted supporters of rival party. Locals alleged that the group of 20/30 people, including Ward Chairperson Mandal, attacked Kamlesh Kumar Mandal, Birendra Mandal, and Rakesh Mahato who were sitting in front of a grocery store while playing a DJ.

Keula Devi, a grocery shop owner, said that those who came suddenly with a DJ band assaulted the people sitting in her shop and misbehaved with her. Injured Kamlesh Kumar Mandal alleged that when he tried to escape, he went inside the shopkeeper's house and broke the door. He has bruises on his cheek and ear. Ramchavila Sah of Gaushala-2 alleged that he was attacked when he went to see the incident site. He sustained a head injury and got six stitches on his head. 

The victims alleged that the same group went to the hospital and assaulted them again at 11:30 at night. Rajeev Sah, a health worker at the primary center, informed that people came and assaulted the injured who were being treated at the primary center in the middle of the night. Dinesh Kumar Singh, a relative of the injured, alleged that the team led by the ward chairperson again attacked the hospital and also took his mobile phone and Rs. 40,000 in cash. The victims alleged that they were assaulted over the outcome of the House of Representatives and provincial Assembly elections. 3200 votes were cast in Gaushala-2, which was considered the pocket constituency of the elected representative Mahato. Although it was claimed that 2500 votes should fall to Mahato, only 1800 votes were cast.
