Kapilvastu,6 barsiya balitkrit. KAPILVASTU, SEP 21 - A six-year-old child has reportedly been raped at Kusahawa in Thunhiya VDC in the district. A permanent resident of the same VDC, the victim’s mother said that local Ananda Bishwokarma, 40, under the influence of alcohol, dragged Shanti Nepali (name changed) to the courtyard, raped her and fled the scene. Nepali was sleeping when the incident occurred. The victim’s mother said that earlier she was forced to hide the incident that took place a week ago. The incident came to light only on Saturday when the victim’s mother managed to inform rights activities about the matter. The victim’s mother said the family of the perpetrator and local people are pressing them to settle the matter in village. She said that she was also lured with money for the same. The victim’s father said that the local people called a meeting the day after the incident and tried to settle the matter by forgiving the guilty for the crime. The victim’s family has lodged a complaint with police. The victim is being treated, police said, adding that they are searching for the guilty.
