Police arrested Ram Thapa a marijuana seller on the charge of murdering 55-year-old Dhruva Khadka on February 7 in Kathmandu. According to the police, the accused brutally murdered Khadka by luring him under the pretext of dropping the victim at his home with the objective of looting. Khadka was reportedly under heavy influence of alcohol that night. Police further added that the accused slammed the head of the victim into a wall and then kicked him in his chest until he was dead. After murdering him the accused looted a purse, mobile, and belt of the victim and absconded.
