Indrajit Kumar Mahato a 14-year-old teen boy of Bardibas municipality-12 in Mahottari was allegedly held hostage and brutally assaulted for six hours by six local youths on February 6, for allegedly stealing money off of a piggy bank. According to the eyewitnesses, local youths Ranjit Mahato, Sanjit Mahato, Hari Mahato, Ramjanm Mahato, Sushil Mahato, and Ranjit Chaudhary dragged the victim by the motorcycle and tortured him making him seriously injured. According to the victim, the accused hanged him by tying both hands threatened him by showing Khukuri, charged him with a wire in his foot, punched him, and drowned his head in water until he suffered. The locals alleged that the police did not cooperate or arrested the accused. Whereas, the police refused the allegations and alleged that they would take action after the investigation.
