Entrepreneurs of Dhangadhi staged a demonstration on February 21, in Kailali against the increased interest rate of Banks and financial institutions. Under the leadership of the Kailali Chamber of Commerce and Industry, businessmen involved in various businesses have also warned of further agitation if the government is not serious about this issue. The demonstrators alleged that after increasing the interest rated of the loans taken by banks and financial institutions from 8 percent to 16 percent, the trend of businessmen fleeing from business is increasing. Businessmen also accused that the banks and financial institutions of the black market in the name of interest rates.
