Area Police Office Kalyanpur has filed a case against Rajabul Miyan, 18, of Uttarbariya in Kushaha VDC-8 on October 8 on charge of attempting to rape an 18-year-old girl. According to Inspector Chhedilal Kamati, a rape attempt case has been filed against Miya. He is accused of trying to rape the girl at a bush near Birdhana river in Kushaha VDC-6 on October 7. The locals apprehended Miyan after the victim's sister-in-law saw him trying to rape her. He was later handed over to APO Kalyanpur. Medical check-up of the victim and the accused was conducted at the Zonal Hospital in Rajbiraj Municipality-3 on October 8.
