Human Rights activists of the district have issued a statement on October 14 demanding action against the perpetrators in the separate incidents torching of two women by their family members. Puja Devi Nau Thakur, 25, of Manpur in Indrapur VDC-9 and Hem Kumari Dhobi, 26, of Bhujai in Khaskarkando VDC-2 were set on fire by their family on October 12. The statement is signed by INSEC regional coordinator Bhola Mahat, FNJ Banke chairperson Rudra Subedi, FWLD coordinator Sunil Shrestha, HimRights regional coordinator Prakash Upadhyaya among others. They have also demanded the investigation of the case while wishing speedy recovery of the women being treated at Bheri Zonal Hospital.
