The accused has confessed to the police that he had killed Gita Devi Sada, 35, to end the affair with her. He told police that he strangulated her to death with her sari after she pressurized him to continue the relation which he wanted to terminate. Gita Devi’s body was found by her husband in a sugarcane field on October 16. She had left home in the afternoon to collect fodder a day earlier. APO Mirchaiya’s Inspector Hari Katidwada said that the police investigation found that the accused had contacted her on the day of her disappearance. He added police will obtain permission to extend his custody time for further investigation. The postmortem of the body was conducted at Ram Kumar Uma Prasad Murarka Hospital in Lahan on October 17.
