In Ilam, a man  committed patricide following a dispute concerning inheritance. Deepak Kumal, a 32-year-old resident of Cheptee in Mai Municipality-2, was apprehended by the police on Friday morning and charged with the murder of his own father, Lok Bahadur Kumal, aged 70.

Upon receiving the news of Lok Bahadur's death while undergoing treatment at Birta City Hospital, who had suffered serious injuries after being assaulted by Deepak on May 22,  the District Police Office in Ilam promptly arrested Deepak, who was implicated in the attack. The police are currently conducting further investigations into this matter.
