Dang/ November 4 An elderly man has been arrested by the police from Hemantapur police post on November 2 on charge of attempting to rape his granddaughter. He attempted to rape his granddaughter in an inebriated state. The victim's relative had informed the police about the incident. She underwent a health checkup at Rapti Zonal hospital. ASI Dev Bahadur KC of Hemantapur Police post said that the incident is under investigation. Similarly, district court of Dang has ordered to remand five people in custody on November 3 on charge of raping a 35-year-old woman. Police had registered the case at district court on November 1. A single bench of district court judge Biswa Mangal Atreya had issued a verdict in this case on November 3. The victim had lodged a complaint at district police office on November 2. She underwent health checkup at Rapti zonal hospital. The accused are Pawan DC, 24, of Ghorahi Municipality-1, Guru Prasad Chaudhary, 18, of same municipality, Durga Chaudhary, 18, Pradeep Chaudhary, 18, Bikram Chaudhary, 18, Risi Raj Neupane, 18 and Ashis Neupane,18. Among those accused, Ashis Neupane is at large and his search is underway, said SP Khinu Prasad Acharya of DPO.
