The District Court of Kaski has slapped 10 years sentence and Rs 100,000 compensation to 32-year-old Ram Chandra Tripathi of Hemja VDC-6 on November 4, 2014, for raping a 25-year-old single woman. A single bench of district court judge Purusottam Dhakal issued the verdict regarding the case, said Srestedar Dinbandhu Baral of the district court. The accused was arrested on December 29, 2013, after an FIR was lodged against him by the victim on the same day accusing him of raping her on December 27, 2013.  The victim underwent a health checkup at a western regional hospital in Pokhara.
