Myagdi villages deprived of health services

2014-11-07

Myagdi, Suwasthya sewa bata banchit myagdi gaun. The people living in remote settlements of Myagdi district are deprived of health service. Due to geographical difficulty and remoteness, the people from six VDCs have no access to the health service. Rum, Arman, Darbang, Mudi, Kuhu, Shikha, Histan are the VDCs having no reliable health service centres. So, the people walk for more than two hours to receive the service. The difficult geography and lack of transportation have added woes to the people, said Chadurbodh Phagami from Dukhu village of Darbang VDC. The District Health Office has said although the higher bodies were repeatedly informed about this and requested for expanding health service, it was not heeded. As there is no reliable health service from VDC health posts, the locals have been united and built a community health clinic on their own. Newly appointed chairperson at Myagdi Hospital Development Committee, Chandra Bahadur KC, however, said he would work to expand health services to every rural community in the district.
