Punam Devi Mahato of Madhubangoth VDC-8 has succumbed to the injuries inflicted by her husband Ram Prabesh Mahato when he severely beat her over a domestic dispute on the evening of November 10. Critically injured Punam Devi died on November 11 during the treatment at Majorgunj Hospital in India, SI Sudam Sijapati of District Police Office, Sarlahi informed. The accused remains at large after the incident, the DPO said, adding that his search was underway. The incident is under investigation according to the police.
