Saptari District Court has decided to send a 32-year-old man to seven years in prison on November 11 convicting him of raping his 15-year-old niece. District judge Chandra Bahadur Saru jailed the perpetrator to jail for seven years and to make him pay RS 20,000 to the victim as compensation, registrar Nabaraj Dulal said. The Court had remanded in Rajbiraj Prison on May 26. The convict had raped the girl on April 17 and four times by April 28, the girl’s grandmother mentioned in her FIR. He was arrested on April 29 while the medical checkup of the girl was held on the same day. The girl had been living with her grandmother as her mother had died four year earlier while her father is working in India.
