The District Court of Siraha has slapped 10 years of jail term to Dhan Bahadur Sarki, 58, of Muksar VDC-3 on November 10 on charge of raping a 7-year-old girl. A single bench of District Court judge Binod Kumar Pokhrel issued a verdict over the case said district attorney Hem Chandra Regmi. Regmi said that compensation of Rs 50,000 will be provided to the victim from the state's fund as the accused does not have any property in his name. The victim's family lodged a complaint at Area Police Office of Mirchaiya on June 2 against the accused on charge of raping the girl near the mango field in Muksar VDC-3 in the morning of May 31. Area Police Office of Mirchaiya had arrested the accused on June 3 and was in custody since June 26 according to the court order.
