Bhaktapur to be declared child labour free

Bhaktapur, Bhaktapur baal shram mukt ghoshna. BHAKTAPUR: Concerned authorities and stakeholders are agreed to make the district as the child labour free by 2074 BS. Participants of a national taskforce seminar organized on Tuesday in the district by the Concern Nepal, agreed and expressed their commitment to make the district as child labour free. While speaking in the seminar, chief district officer (CDO) who is also the chairperson of the child welfare committee, Anil Kumar Thakur pointed out the need of collective works for the same. He further said that the statistics collection campaign has been begun at indifferent hotels, restaurants, transportation areas and brick kilns to collect the exact data to make effective policy for the purpose. Director at the Labour Division Dr Barun Kumar Jha said that non-governmental organizations have been presenting fake statistics to collect the fund and they are arbitrarily spending fund rather than working to reduce child labour. Chief of the District Women and Children Office, Nirmala Karki, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Education Bhoj Raj Shrestha, Dr Bijay Sainju, chairman at the Concern Nepal jointly expressed their commitment to make the district as child labour free.
