Criminal group held in Morang

Morang,Morang ma aapradhik samuh giraftaar. MORANG, NOV 10 - Ten members of a criminal group involved in criminal activities in various parts of eastern Nepal have been arrested in Morang district. Police made public 10 people aligned with an organised crime syndicate involved in criminal activities in eastern Nepal under the name of Kirant Limbuwan Rashtriya Parishad and Limbuwan Krantikari Party on Monday. The security officers claimed that the arrested persons were involved in the explosion near Area Police Office in Pathari, Morang, on November 5. Police had apprehended the group from Sanischar-8 and Bayarban-8. Among the arrested are Man Bahadur Majhi, Parbat Tamang, Ashish Limbu, Dorje Tamang, Manoj Bishwokarma, Bishwo BK, and Suman Limbu of Bayarban-8 and Kumar Limbu of Bayarban-9, Chandra Limbu of Satasidham-3, Jhapa and Kabiraj Limbu of Aayabari-8, Morang, said Superintendent of Police Thule Rai. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police, Raj Kumar Baidwar of regional investigation team, Chandra Limbu had long been involved in the supply and sale of explosives to various criminal groups while Kabiraj Limbu was a convict at large charged with murder and stockpiling of arms and ammunition. Baidwar also informed that the group had confessed to their involvment in the blast at Pathari and Taplejung. Preliminary investigation confirmed the involvement of Majhi in Taplejung bomb blast, police said that they had identified others involved on the basis of his statement and intensified their search. According to Baidwar, it has also been established that another group associated to the syndicate was responsible for the abduction of manager of Kabeli Hydropower Project, Suresh Kumar who was rescued by the police. The group had demanded a ransom of Rs 30 million for his release. According to police, the group had been involved in robbery at various locations of eastern Nepal and extorting money from large cardamom businessman. Meanwhile, police have seized 160 metres of electric wire, pieces of exploded pressure cooker bomb, pamphlets and organisational documents of the outfit, a red flag with the emblem of Sun and five stars. Likewise, police also confiscated 22 detonators, half kilograms gunpowder, 31 PEK (plastic explosives), one battery (power source for the charge), five mobile phones, and SIM (Subscriber Identity Modules) cards of various companies found in their possession. Police said that they will continue their investigation after charging them under the Arms and Ammunition (Prevention and Control) Act.
