Man Accused of Killing Daughter Released on Bail

Saptari,chori hatyaka aropit buwa dharautima chute. Saptari/ November 14 District court of Saptari has released Mohan Mahato, 60, on a bail amount of Rs 18,000 on November 13. He is accused of murdering his daughter Ranjani Kumari Mahato, 13, of Kanchanrupa municipality-6, Pripa on October 13. A single bench of district judge Ram Prasad Adhikari issued a verdict in this case, said Srestedar Nawa Raj Dulal. The accused has been released on bail as the the victim's body has not been recovered yet, said district court. Similarly, the court has also ordered to release victim's maternal uncle Darshan Mahato, 55, and Pulkit Mahato, 35, on general date. The accused were arrested and charged under murder case by the area police office of Kanchanpur on October 21 on charge of beating and murdering the girl on October 13. The other accused Devrath Mahato, son of Darshan is still at large, according to the police. The victim had left her house on October 12 and was living in one of the relative's house at Kanchanpur-3, Badgama after she could not stand the beating she was subjected to by her family members. The accused admitted that she died when they beat her for leaving the house. They said that her body was thrown in Triyuga River. Her body is still missing. One week later the police had initiated the investigation and arrested the accused on October 21. The incident became public after the neighbor started to ask about the missing girl.
