Bajura, Bajura ka bidyarthi haru bhatkina lageko bhawan ma padna badhya. Students of Dudhir Primary School in Barhabis of Bajura are studying in a building that can collapse anytime. The schoolhouse constructed 30 years ago is on the verse of crumbling, said Principal Bikram Bahadur Singh. The building that has six rooms to operate classes is not in a condition to house students, informed teacher Prakash Nath. The roof has leaked and it pours during rain, he added. A few years back, the District Education Office (DEO) had built a two-room building for the school, but it could not suffice the school’s need. Nath said the school grants leaves for students of some grades when it rains. “We also don’t have desks and benches,” said a fifth grader Tulsi Nepali. Meanwhile, the School Management Committee said it is urging the DEO and other organisations for maintenance of the building. Assistant District Education Officer Surendra Bahadur Singh said his office is trying to find resources for the maintenance. As many as 146 students are studying at the school.
