The body of an old man has been recovered from a sugarcane field in Hattilet VDC-1 of Mahottari district on December 18 in a suspicious condition. According to DSP Lokendra Shrestha, the dead body has begun to decompose and is of an elderly 5-foot-tall, fair, gray-haired man with a long beard. The body has been brought to the District Hospital, Jaleshwor for autopsy.

The identification of the dead body is still unknown. Police are investigating the incident.
