Police Firing Leaves One Dead

Rupandehi, prahariko goli praharbata ekko mrityu. Rupandehi/November 22 One Indian national has been shot dead by the police in Bhaisiya Village of Bishnupura VDC-5 on November 22. The deceased is identified as Saraf Ross Khan of Maharajgunj, India. According to SP Rajendra Dhakal of the District Police Office, Khan had been police list of most wanted. He was shot at when he was fleeing away after firing at the police. The site is nearly 20 km from Lumbini. They were followed by the plain-cloth police after getting a tip off that they were in Bishnupura. Khan along with three other men was trying to flee in two motorcycles with Indian number plates. Police said they encountered the group on the road at Bishnupura, linking Lumbini and Saljhandi adding the three had surrendered to the police. The arrestees were identified as Aklesh Yadav, 22, of Dhamauli VDC-7, Wakil Ahamad Fakir Musalman, 29, of Bijuwa VDC-6, Kapilbastu and Hafi Jullah, 25, of Nandanagar VDC-2, Kapilbastu. Police recovered three guns and 15 rounds of bullets from them. Police claim that the gang was involved in abduction and killing of Akash Gurung of Bhairahawa two months ago.
