Child Domestic Help Kept by APF Inspector Rescued

Sunsari, Sahastra prahri inspectorko gharma rakhiyeki baalshramik abhivavahakko jimma Sunsari/November 26 An 8-year-old girl kept as a domestic help by Armed Police Force (APF) Inspector Uttam Basnet and his wife Durga Rai has been rescued and handed over to her parents on November 26. The girl is a grade one student at the Pakali Highers Secondari School. Students of Pakali child club had searched for her after she did not attend school for three consecutive days. They had found her at her room with bruises in her body and eye after which they filed a complaint at the Area Police Office Pakali on November 25. The child club claimed that Uttam and his wife repeatedly beat her. The child club formed by INSEC told INSEC representative that she was couple beat her up. She said that they kicked her and pinched her. Inspector Bishnu Barsingh Thapa of APO Pakali said that the child was handed over to her parent in the presence of Ramesh Tamrakar, coordinator of Distirct Child Welfare Committee, Purna Maya Rai, Child Protection Officer at Women and Children Office, INSEC representative and journalists. Inspector Gautam said that he had kept the girl to provide her education and she suffered bruises when after falling when he tried to scare her for the 'mistake' she committed. Uttam of Itahari Municipality-7 and his wife Durga, both are Inspectors at APF Eastern Headquarters Pakali.
